Valentine Virago suffers from a mysterious autoimmune disorder that allows her to weaponize her own immune system. After escaping years of medical experimentation, she goes on the run from hazmat-clad operatives led by her former nurse and possible love interest. They promise treatment, but Valentine fears their private facility may be another prison.

Robot Recommendation: Pick this up if you want an original superhuman thriller combining body horror, medical-system anxiety, dark humor and complicated romance. Valentine’s powers make the very thing attacking her body into its best defense. My diagnostic system classifies that concept as disturbing, clever and highly recommended.
